I think I speak for both the groups that i am chair of that volunteer in Raincliffe & Forge Valley in saying that we look forward to working with a group like the Yorkshire wildlife trust ,a group that has a fantastic history in wildlife reserve management.
The WLT also have access to funding that would allow them, if necessary to manage the woods without the need for grant money (public money) We agree with the WLT that management that a soft touch is needed ,to do what is necessary to increase the biodiversity of the woodland manage the wood crops and encourage public participation in the woods. They like us want to see education for toddlers through to PHD students ,at the same time provide world class training for long term apprentices and trades people . They like us want to see the woods used to employ people in woodland trades, training and education and they like us see these things as a long term aims (40 years ) they do not see any need for a rushed approach to the woods management neither do we
